It was a shock when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I saw Miss Dua a week later and I felt completely at ease after meeting her. She explained thoroughly everything that was going to happen in the operation and I was relieved to know that she would operate on me. She is very approachable and answers any questions, however silly they might sound to yourself. I would definitely recommend her for anyone diagnosed with breast cancer and also the nurses at the breast care unit at Broomfield hospital.

Lucky day for me when I was referred to Sascha Dua....Month ago I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer after routine mammogram. Meeting Sascha gave confidence in her ability to give me the best chance of curing my cancer. She explained simply (instead of using medical jargon)that I required surgery to remove cancer and lymph nodes, also explained how lymph nodes were shaped to give me a better understanding. Must mention before I carry on that I told Sascha I have white coat syndrome and she replied "this is why I wear black" doctor with a sense of humour to break the ice. I had a CAT scan to make sure no other cancer...worrying time. Sascha gave me the good news it was clear and I instantly hugged her, which she didn't seem to mind. Day of the operation Sascha came to see me and again went through what her plan was, would test the cancer removed during surgery. The duration of operation was 3hrs and once she was finished, as promised she called my husband to put his mind a rest and say "it all went well" Went home next day with antibiotics , paracetamol and ibuprofen. Saw Sascha the following day to check everything was OK and said she would try her hardest to get results of lymph nodes by the following Tuesday and this was Friday. True to her word results were back and Yay! no cancer lots of hugs all round. Referred me to oncologist for treatment...radiotherapy etc It's a real privilege to be cared for by this amazing lady SASCHA DUA...you can tell i'm a fan. Thank you so much for saving me

It was very nice to see a female breast surgeon. Somebody who understood my needs. She made contact with another doctor that I had previously seen, which I was very happy about, as I got to see him and that put my mind at rest. I was also given the opportunity to make contact with other women who had followed the same path that I was about to follow. This was priceless.

Sascha was the one who diagnosed me with breast cancer and has held my hand and has been there from the beginning of my difficult journey. Thankfully I am now coming out of the other end and wouldn't of got through it without her support and her Breast Buddies group who are ladies that are or have been through the same journey and have all been there throughout!!! I cannot praise Sascha enough!!!!! A truly amazing surgeon!!! X
